Yesterday, I was back at the hostel for the first time in 2017. It was good to see Stu and Damo again. These are just two of so many who find themselves in difficult circumstances. I was able to give Stu some practical help, with a little training on the use of basic computer applications, such as Word.
Do pray for wisdom in getting the right balance between practical help and spiritual input.
I have also been in conversation with a sister who works in some women’s shelters, about a particular lady that we have been seeking to help in a practical way. She has been open to take literature to read, but we do need wisdom in assessing the depth of need etc. Much prayer would be appreciated.
With so much need around us, lives broken in different ways, we do feel that it is encumbant upon us to not only preach the Gospel, but also help meet some of the need. It is true that the basis of the brokenness is sin, and therefore the answer is found in the Saviour, so the message of the Gospel is central to the hope we offer.
